Iran is the third walnut producer of the world with ayearly harvest of more than 450000 metric tons, Iran has always been a big producer of this nutritious nut.

One of the two most common major species of walnuts are grown for their seeds and they are: the Persian (or English) Walnut and the Black Walnut. The Persian walnut originated in Persia is the most popular walnut type and is grown commercially for nut production. Walnut kernels contain 4% water, 15% protein, 65% fat, and 14% carbohydrates, including 7% dietary fiber and is a nutritious nut which has medicinal benefits.
